Karen Corrigan is a leading proponent for market-driving strategies that create value, transform organizations and build economic prosperity. Over the course of her career, she has worked as a health system executive, chief strategy officer, chief marketing executive and entrepreneur. Today, her clients include a diverse group of health systems, start-up companies, technology partners and other businesses in private and public sectors.
Previously, Karen was founder and CEO of The Strategy Group (TSG), a management consultancy specializing in competitive market strategy in the health industry. In 2008, TSG merged with Navvis & Company (St. Louis) and Karen served as chief strategy officer for the combined venture. Prior to TSG, she was corporate vice president for System Development at Sentara Healthcare (Norfolk, VA), where she led strategic planning, business development, brand building and marketing operations. Previously, she worked with two other Virginia-based healthcare systems.
Her knowledge and hands-on experience in health system development, brand building, growth strategies and marketing management, combined with a futuristic perspective on changing competitive dynamics, brings clients leading-edge, actionable insights, ideas and plans.
Karen is a graduate of Virginia Wesleyan College. She is publisher and lead blogger for Chief Marketing Officer, a social forum for healthcare marketing executives.
Carla Bryant, partner and digital marketing strategist, is known for her ability to identify and implement new product, service and technology innovations that support the brand, business and growth strategies of an organization. She is passionate about the intersection of technology and marketing, and calls upon her years of experience as an innovator and strategist to help clients improve competitive performance through brand, marketing and new media innovations that empower employees, providers, and consumers.
Prior to joining Corrigan Partners, Carla worked with The Strategy Group and Navvis & Company, where she led brand and marketing engagements. She previously served as senior vice president for product development and chief technology officer for HealthOnline, and as director of emerging technology and director of strategic planning for Sentara Healthcare (Virginia). Her innovative product strategy for Sentara’s SpinWeb, a physician-focused technology product, was profiled in Bill Gates’ book Business @ The Speed of Thought. Carla holds a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from Virginia Tech and frequently speaks and writes on competitive strategy, advanced marketing and health industry innovation.

F. Brian Whitman
Brian Whitman’s extensive experience in the health industry and deep expertise in marketing bring creative, results-oriented business and brand building solutions to Corrigan Partners’ clients. Over the course of his career, he has been responsible for all aspects of brand and marketing management, including brand management, marketing planning, new product launches, partnership development, marketing promotions, corporate communications, crisis management and merger communications.
Prior to joining Corrigan Partners, Brian served as vice president for Indiana University Health Bloomington, with responsibility for marketing, community relations, business development, physician outreach, CRM/call center, service excellence and community health. There he served as IU Health’s organization’s regional branding officer. He previously worked at Clarian Health Partners, Inc., where he led service-line marketing for cardiovascular and cancer. Prior to Clarion, he was employed at Corporate Creations, Inc., where he had account oversight for Cummins Engine, Delta Faucet and Methodist Health System.
Brian holds an MBA in health care management from Western Governors University, and a BA from the University of Indianapolis. He teaches healthcare marketing at Indiana University as adjunct faculty, and is an active member the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (SHSMD).
Allison Cooper has a passion for innovative marketing, business and new media strategies that help organizations grow and better serve customers. Her ability to apply analytic precision in uncovering market opportunities and distill complex ideas into easily understood conclusions and courses of action, creates excitement around opportunities.
Prior to joining Corrigan Partners, Allison held consulting positions with The Strategy Group (Norfolk, VA), Navvis & Company (St. Louis), and at The Lewin Group (Falls Church, VA). Previously, she worked at Massachusetts General Hospital and Partners Healthcare (Boston, MA); there her responsibilities included enterprise-wide strategic planning initiatives, marketing programs, clinical service line development, physician alignment strategies, physician recruitment and retention, new facility development, research program development and the creation of academic affiliations.
Within her own community, Allison strives to build ties between young adults and her temple by developing an eclectic range of educational and pure-fun activities. She also supports elder care through participation on the Beth Sholom Village nursing home board of directors. Allison holds a Masters degree in Public Health from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics from Brandeis University.

Kari Skipper Foster
Kari Skipper Foster helps clients reconnect with their purpose and crystalize their message. With vision and clarity, she works with clients to identify and develop the optimum methods for communicating with their audience.
Throughout her career Kari has developed a wide variety of design and communication projects for corporations, organizations and municipal agencies. As donor family services communications coordinator for LifeNet Health, she oversaw the total redesign of the organization’s bereavement support website and print materials, and managed their online community specifically designed for organ and tissue donor families (long before Facebook and Twitter!). Kari signed on as client services manager at The Strategy Group, later Navvis & Company, and became marketing manager. She oversaw the website redesign of one of the company’s divisions and served as layout and content editor for electronic and print communication. Through the years Kari has maintained a loyal base of clients who rely on her skills to help them share information, tell their story and build community.
Kari holds a BA in Education from James Madison University where she graduated Cum Laude in 1988. When she’s not zooming around the WWW satisfying her latest curiosity, or zooming around Virginia Beach on her bike, Kari loves being a professional core member of the Virginia Symphony Chorus.

Susan Lilly consumes vast amounts of health industry data so you don’t have to. Through comprehensive analysis and synthesis of industry trends, consumer research and often-elusive data, she provides succinct insights, information and narratives to support strategic marketing decision-making. She also develops strategies and relevant, understandable content to help organizations engage with customers, employees and other key audiences on a variety of traditional and social media platforms.
Susan has been working in health care policy, marketing and management for 20 years. Her expertise in health system strategy, brand development and consumer marketing helps health care clients grow and differentiate in complex, competitive markets. Prior to joining Corrigan Partners, Susan worked as a management consultant with The Strategy Group and Navvis & Company, and as a strategic planner for Sentara Healthcare (Norfolk, VA). While in Washington, D.C., Susan worked as a consultant for Covance, a health economics and outcomes research firm, and developed policy as a writer and legislative liaison for the American College of Physicians. She received her professional start in health care by working for the Subcommittee on Health and the Environment on Capitol Hill.
Susan holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia, and a Master of Health Science in Health Policy from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.

For 16 years, Lisa was an integral part of the corporate marketing and communications team within Sentara Healthcare leading merger and acquisition communication initiatives; serving as its brand manager, as well as, strategic marketing leadership with existing and new products. In addition, Lisa has worked within a variety of non-healthcare industries through her position with the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, and working in account service with two east coast advertising agencies.

Dee Dee Becker
Dee Dee Becker offers a wealth of marketing, communications and PR experience which began in the non-profit sector more than twenty years ago with the American Diabetes Association and later, with Sentara Healthcare, a Virginia-based health system. In 1998, she founded Becker Communications and worked with numerous clients within the non-profit, entertainment, transportation, education, legal and medical sectors, including The New York Times Company, Virginia Port Authority, and ESPN.
Dee Dee is experienced in planning and managing major corporate communications and PR initiatives for healthcare organizations, ranging from mergers and acquisitions to program and service line publicity to crisis management related issues. She has expertise in communications planning, writing and management across multiple platforms including traditional, web and social media.
A graduate of the University of Mary Washington and member of the Public Relations Society of America, Dee Dee also enjoys freelance writing and has published feature stories in many national, regional and local magazines.
Katie Adams is a writer, editor and marketing/public relations professional with 19 years of experience. Her expertise is in collaborating with clients to develop industry-leading brands by producing effective, business-building content and marketing communications materials for traditional, web and social media platforms. She has produced award-winning work for health systems, hospitals, hospices, foundations, technology firms and businesses serving the health industry, and for numerous clients in the securities and financial markets, electric power utilities, professional service firms and not-for profit agencies. Previously, she served as director of media relations at Fannie Mae (FNM/NYSE). In that position she oversaw a staff of 14 public and media relations professionals and was responsible for implementing a nationwide corporate communications plan. Katie is a graduate of the College of William and Mary, and is actively involved in international philanthropic work to increase impoverished Nicaraguans’ access to quality healthcare, education, and employment.
Sarah Cowherd works with health care clients on social media networking strategies to build digital brands, and engage patients and health care professionals in on-line forums. She has expertise in multiple social platforms including blogs, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. In addition to her work at Corrigan Partners, she also provides care to patients in the advanced heart failure unit at Sentara Heart Hospital and was previously employed in the stroke unit at Inova Fairfax Hospital. Sarah holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and has participated in medical missions in Nicaragua, Bolivia, Kenya and Uganda. She is an active blogger on topics of social media, technology and nursing, and participates in the Mayo Clinic Social Media Network.
